1. Visualization of the Neural System

This visualization explores the neural system of Caenorhabditis elegans, a well-studied model organism. We present 194 neurons out of the 302 total neurons in the adult hermaphrodite, allowing you to explore neural connections and classifications.

Key Features:

  • Interactive neural diagram with 194 neurons represented
  • Neurons grouped and highlighted by class
  • Unresolved clusters (DB3-6, DA3-7, DD2-6) resolved using literature data
  • Multiple visualization options for different research needs
  • Based on the comprehensive Cook et al. 2019 connectome study
  • Additional Smith 2024 classification for motor neurons

2. Visualization of Hyp7 Syncytium

Hyp7 is a syncytium that reaches 139 nuclei by the end of L4. This visualization presents all 5 larval stages with proper nuclei positions and names, each displayed on 3 planes: left lateral (LL), right lateral (LR), and medial.

Key Features:

  • Complete larval stage visualizations (Late Embryo, Late L1, Late L2, Late L3, Late L4)
  • Multiple viewing planes for each stage (LL, LR, medial)
  • Accurate nuclei positions and naming
  • Interactive exploration of syncytium development
  • Data sourced from WormAtlas
